About

Writer/ Director/ Editor in London

Beatrix Blaise is a London-based director, writer, editor, and photographer known for her innovative storytelling and visual style. She studied at Chelsea UAL, focusing on moving image as her primary medium, and began her career directing music videos and commercials before transitioning into filmmaking. Her debut short film, Tin Luck (2020), was a community-driven project shot in a single, uninterrupted nine-minute take on 35mm, earning a nomination for Best UK Short at Raindance. Community is at the heart of her work—she spent five years as Head of Content at Girls in Film, GiF IG, building a platform for underrepresented voices in the industry.

As both a director and writer, Beatrix is drawn to the intersections of humanities and the arts, exploring the power of film to challenge perspectives. Her work delves into the intricate puzzle of energies and identities—how they communicate, what connects them, and where tensions arise. Through her storytelling and photography, she investigates how individuals curate their own worlds—or have them curated for them—and the conflicts that emerge as a result.
